LPAC Fall 2012 Update
LPAC board presents this update regarding the status of the Lincoln Performing Arts Coalition (LPAC).
What is the LPAC?
A nonprofit 501(c)(3)organization established in 2010 to raise funds in support of the Performing Arts program at LHS. At present, we are raising funds to support the Musical Theater and (one) Jazz Choir classes.
What is our annual fundraising need?
$39,000: which we raise at our two annual events: our summer alumni benefit musical held in June and our winter alumni holiday concert held in December.
Where do we stand at present?
We need to raise $9,000 at our Holiday Alumni Cabaret to ensure that we have the funds to cover our costs for the remainder of the 2012-2013 school year. We are confident that with your help we can do this as $9,000 is the approximate amount raised at last year's Home for the Holidays Alumni Cabaret.
We're grateful for the support of anonymous donors who have put up a Graduating 2013 Senior Class challenge grant of $2013 to help us achieve this goal. (They will match all donations up to $2013.)
What can you do?
Please save the date of our Home for the Holidays Alumni Cabaret: December 27th, 2012
Please consider matching our challenge grant with a donation equivalent to your high school year of graduation. (or more if you are able to) We start with challenging all graduating seniors to donate $20.13. Let's have some fun with this and enjoy a fabulous evening of entertainment at the same time.
The LPAC Board
We encourage any of you who are interested to attend LPAC Board meetings, which are open to the public and usually held in room 91 at 6:30 on the third Thursday of the month. You can find more details at www.lincolnperformingarts.com . We are looking for interested volunteers to join our efforts at preserving the performing arts opportunities for the student at LHS. We welcome those of you who are interested to attend a meeting and see how you can help.
We are looking forward to seeing you December 27 at the Home for the Holidays Alumni Cabaret concert benefit!
Respectfully submitted,
Peggy Mahony
President LPAC
