LPAC Fall 2012 Update

LPAC board presents this update regarding the status of the Lincoln Performing Arts Coalition (LPAC).

What is the LPAC?

A nonprofit 501(c)(3)organization established in 2010 to raise funds in support of the Performing Arts program at LHS. At present, we are raising funds to support the Musical Theater and (one) Jazz Choir classes.

What is our annual fundraising need?

$39,000: which we raise at our two annual events: our summer alumni benefit musical held in June and our winter alumni holiday concert held in December.

Where do we stand at present?

We need to raise $9,000 at our Holiday Alumni Cabaret to ensure that we have the funds to cover our costs for the remainder of the 2012-2013 school year. We are confident that with your help we can do this as $9,000 is the approximate amount raised at last year's Home for the Holidays Alumni Cabaret.

We're grateful for the support of anonymous donors who have put up a Graduating 2013 Senior Class challenge grant of $2013 to help us achieve this goal. (They will match all donations up to $2013.)

What can you do?

Please save the date of our Home for the Holidays Alumni Cabaret: December 27th, 2012

Please consider matching our challenge grant with a donation equivalent to your high school year of graduation. (or more if you are able to)  We start with challenging all graduating seniors to donate $20.13. Let's have some fun with this and enjoy a fabulous evening of entertainment at the same time.

The LPAC Board

We encourage any of you who are interested to attend LPAC Board meetings, which are open to the public and usually held in room 91 at 6:30 on the third Thursday of the month.  You can find more details at www.lincolnperformingarts.com . We are looking for interested volunteers to join our efforts at preserving the performing arts opportunities for the student at LHS. We welcome those of you who are interested to attend a meeting and see how you can help.

We are looking forward to seeing you December 27 at the Home for the Holidays Alumni Cabaret concert benefit!

Respectfully submitted,

Peggy Mahony

President LPAC

2012 Challenge Matching Grant

An anonymous donor has offered to match all donations up to a total of $2012 that are made before January 1, 2012.
Let's have some fun with this!
We would like to challenge each student, alumni, or parent of alumni to raise an amount equivalent to their graduation year, a fairly small amount!  For example, if you're graduating this year in 2012, you can donate $20.12.  If you hail from 1997 then $19.97.  Let's see what class has the most pride!  If you want to donate more, yes please! Just let us know what year you're from and we'll be sure to take care of that.
We only have a short window to get donations flowing so let's get started NOW!
There are two ways to donate:
1.) Online, using our convenient Vendini system.
2.) Cash/Check In Person: The theatre will be open Wednesday, December 28 from 9 AM - 8 PM and Thursday, December 29, 5PM - 10 PM for our cabaret, Home for the Holidays, more info on that can be found below.
These donations and the tickets sold at the Home for the Holidays cabaret will hopefully fulfill the funding that we are short for this school year.

You spend it on Starbucks, a magazine, iTunes downloads . . . wouldn't it be better spent on helping kids who are about to lose their theatre and jazz choirs at the school you went to?

Click in the menu above to donate or buy tickets to our show this weekend. If it wasn't serious, I wouldn't be bugging you.

Making the News

This is the news cast from last year's alumni show.
Don't be fooled. We are no where near out of jeopardy this year.

It's almost time!

Songs for a New World opens very soon.
Do you have your tickets?

We're very excited to be producing another alumni show this summer. The number of people involved is always so heart-warming and exciting. You will be missed if you can't perform or attend this year but please think about a donation.  Current Lincoln students need your support.  A fresh crop of actors, singers, dancers and musicians just left for college and will soon make headlines like the professionals we see emerging from our program all the time. From Broadway, TV, Movies, International Dance Companies, touring musicians and singers with fully recorded Albums of their own music you just can't say this program isn't worth it.

Don't miss the reception that follows at Antonella's.  It will be fine celebrations after a great evening of entertainment.
